Can this be done?
PROJECT: Using an adjustable HHO generator, Boost the fuel mileage of a Cummins ISM 450 hp in a RV. With the help of a good diesel mechanic, tune the engine to run on 50% HHO in City and take it up to over 90% HHO out on the road. Also, convert the 10 KW generator to start on diesel and RUN on 100% HHO.
Resulting in 30 MPG should be attainable. We've already seen results on a 3/4 ton V8 diesel Chevy pickup, towing a loaded trailer. 60% building to 100% HHO using a lined can-type generator with SS washers.
Reasoning: Too Good fuel economy is NOT obtainable at this time, due to LEGAL RESTRICTIONS for Over The Road vehicles. OTR vehicles such as trucks used for freight hauling, buses, CARS and RVs are required to PAY "Road Use Taxes" to maintain roads and bridges.
What I want to be ready for is the NEW "Road Use" fees several states are starting to implement. NC & OR are leading the way with the FEDs pushing for ALL states to comply. Annual vehicle inspections with mileage entered into a database, then Road Use fees to be collected when you re-new your vehicle License. Can't pay the fee, you don't get a License and have to park your vehicle. There is to be additional FINES for NOT paying the required fees on time.
This is supposed to enable car manufacturers like Chrysler & GM to market plug-in Electric cars for the 2010 model year. These cars will travel 200 miles on a full charged battery pack, but take 8 hours to re-charge from a 110 volt outlet. Some are to have a 220 volt charger for a 4 hour re-charge.
Tesla Motors is already delivering a 100% electric Sports Car.
Honda already has a limited number of Natural Gas Civics on the road in CA for business use. They are re-fueled using a home appliance adapter taking 8 hours to recharge.
